Silence was the weapon used against you, robbing you of your peace of mind, your security and your innocence.  That you have been able to find the courage to find your voices again, speaks volumes for your character and your strength.  As Audre Lourde said: “Speak your truth, even if your voice shakes.” Speaking as one who did not speak her truth and whose scars have run exceedingly deep as a result, I applaud you.  Keep speaking your truth until your voice no longer shakes and the weapon of silence is disarmed for all time.
