To victims of abuse: I just wanted to say that You are not the sum of other people’s ideas or actions toward you. You are what you choose to be. And no matter what has happened to you in the past the rest of your life is all your choice, nobody else’s. They have no power over you. People who have been abused bare so much shame and self hate that is misdirected. Don’t put yourself through anymore pain by being your own enemy. Love yourself. You deserve it. And those sick feelings you may still get because of what was forced on you, let those be the fuel for your future. You are safe now. You are accepted and loved and now you are being vindicated. We’ll make sure of it.
